It took me a while, but I finally migrated the blog from my original hosted Ghost platform to a new one, which hopefully will give me a good burst of energy to update some content! I decided to move away from etherbacon.com to a more personalized blog, mikedent.io. One area that I wanted to spend more focus time on this year was personal growth/reflection and creativity.
Writing about personal experiences and thoughts can be a transformative process, promoting self-reflection and personal growth. As I delve deeper into my own experiences, I gain insights into my own motivations, strengths, and areas for improvement. This introspective process helps me become a better person and, in turn, a better writer. Also, taking a more personal approach to blogging allows me the flexibility to explore various topics that genuinely interest me. This creative freedom keeps me motivated and passionate about my work, ultimately leading to more consistent and engaging content.
Here’s a few items coming up that I’m excited to hit on some content in the coming weeks!
- Nutanix Files 4.3 – Big Release, especially for NC2 and Smart Tiering
- Nutanix .Next is coming up, always a great session – more to come here

Nutanix NC2 on Azure
I’m spending a lot of time these days talking about NC2 with customers, and there is a lot of excitement in these discussions! I wanted to explore a few key benefits of using Nutanix NC2 on Azure and why it’s an ideal choice for modern hybrid cloud environments.
- Cloud On-Ramp
- Simplified Migration
Nutanix NC2 instances on Microsoft Azure offer a game-changing opportunity for businesses looking to leverage the best of both worlds: the scalability and innovation of the Azure cloud platform combined with the performance and simplicity of Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure.
Meeting the customer where they are in their Cloud Journey
Nutanix NC2 on Azure is built for hybrid cloud deployments, offering businesses the flexibility to deploy workloads in their on-premises data centers or on the Azure cloud platform. This enables organizations to create a truly hybrid environment that combines the best of both worlds, catering to the unique needs of their applications and workloads.
NC2 as the On-Ramp to Cloud Native – One of the most significant benefits of using Nutanix NC2 instances as an on-ramp to Azure is the familiarity of the Nutanix platform for organizations already using Nutanix’s hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solutions. By starting with NC2 instances, businesses can maintain consistency in their infrastructure management while gradually moving workloads to the Azure cloud, reducing the learning curve and minimizing potential disruptions.
A Simplified Migration Process – Nutanix NC2 instances on Azure simplify the migration process by providing a unified management experience and tools to facilitate workload migration. With Nutanix Move, you can automate the migration of your applications and data to NC2 instances with minimal downtime and disruption, ensuring a smooth transition to the Azure cloud platform.
Leveraging Nutanix Move for migrations to NC2 is only one of the ways that customers can capitalize on migrations to NC2, but the use of Nutanix Data Protection or Nutanix DR helps extend the value of NC2 to an organization to take advantage of what NC2 brings.
There’s so much more to NC2 than these 2 options, but these are 2 areas I think are super helpful to an organization evaluating the use of NC2.
I’m excited to spend more time with NC2 over the coming months, and I’m excited to share more content in this space.
